B.Sc. Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (BSc in ADS) is a four-year undergraduate program designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, and computational techniques. The program blends core principles of computer science, mathematics, and engineering with advanced AI and data science methodologies to prepare graduates for solving complex, real-world problems across diverse sectors.
Students will learn to design and implement intelligent systems, analyze and interpret large datasets, and apply AI technologies ethically and responsibly in fields such as healthcare, finance, business, agriculture, environment, and public policy. Through a balanced curriculum of theoretical foundations, hands-on laboratory work, research projects, and industry engagement, the program fosters innovation, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Graduates of the program will be prepared for professional careers in AI, data science, software engineering, and related domains, as well as for higher studies and research in emerging areas of artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies.

Graduates of the BSc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science program are expected to achieve the following objectives within a few years of graduation:

Admission Requirements

Every candidate, without any exception, must fulfill the admission requirements as laid down by the University. A higher secondary certificate or its equivalent in science fields of study is the basic educational requirement.

  • Candidates having at least a GPA of 3.50 in SSC and HSC or equivalent are eligible to apply for admission to the B.Sc. in AI and Data Science program.
  • Candidates who have passed at least 5 papers in GCE “O” Level (with Mathematics as one of the subjects) and two papers of “A” Level may also apply provided they have obtained a minimum of 2.5 points (weighted average) in both “O” & “A” level.
  • A Higher Secondary Certificate or its equivalent in Science with Mathematics and Physics or other fields of study is the basic educational requirement.
