Shourin Alam Mou is currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Apparel Merchandising & Management at ISU, with nearly three years of combined experience in both the apparel industry and academia. She completed her B.Sc. in Textile Engineering with a specialization in Apparel Engineering from Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), where she achieved outstanding academic success by securing 1st position in the Department of Apparel Engineering and 2nd position in the Faculty of Fashion Design & Apparel Engineering.
After graduation, she began her professional career at SQ Group as a Production Merchandiser, where she was entrusted with overseeing production operations and maintaining communication with two major UK-based retailers—Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer. During her tenure of approximately 1.5 years, she gained hands-on experience in the apparel supply chain and buyer management. She later transitioned into academia, joining Sonargaon University as a Lecturer in the Department of Textile Engineering where she taught core courses in apparel and textile studies while conducting lab classes and online lectures. She also guided students through presentations and academic counseling to support their professional development.
Beyond teaching, Shourin’s research interests lie in the fields of different product merchandising processes, advanced apparel finishing techniques such as Nano finishing and plasma treatments, as well as sustainable practices in the ready-made garments (RMG) sector. With her blend of academic excellence, industry experience, and research enthusiasm, she is committed to advancing apparel education while promoting innovation and sustainability in the apparel industry.
